Thirty-one members of the Cambridge High School Class of 2011 received diplomas Saturday evening, May 21. The class motto is “To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe.” The class colors are maroon and white.


    Thirty-one members of the Cambridge High School Class of 2011 received diplomas Saturday evening, May 21.

    The class motto is “To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe.” The class colors are maroon and white.

    The invocation was given by Chelsea Mitro and the benediction by Angela Cheek.

    The welcome was given by Devin Kluever.

    “On behalf of the class of 2011, I would like to thank all of you; not just for attending our graduation ceremony, but also for playing vital roles in the lives of all of us," he said. .

    Kallie Cecil gave the first of two honor addresses.

    “Today is the day, and we’ve finally made it through one hurdle of our lives! Yes, I’m speaking to you, this lively crowd. Not only have we made it to graduation, but each and everyone of you have as well," she said.

    Emalie Neils gave the second honor address.

    “We are gathered here to celebrate the end of 13 years of education.  While in the midst of them, especially toward the end, school may have seemed endless, but looking back today, I can’t help but wonder where the time went.  It seemed to pass like a flash, but now the future has come to stand before us.  It looms as the great unknown.  We may not know where we will tread or what we will do along the way.  We can only plan and dream," she said.

    Special music was provided by the Cambridge High School choir and accompanist Christina Allen, singing “The Time of Your Life”.

    School board member Breanna Leander addressed the class.

    "This is the beginning – this is the first day of the rest of your lives," she said. "What beginning are you going to choose?  Many of you have chosen to begin college, others have chosen to directly enter the work-force, and some have even chosen to begin a brave new way of life in the military serving our country."

    Jessica Nail will serve in the United States Air Force, and Joseph Shreeves already has joined the United States Army. 

    Diplomas were presented by Tom Akers, superintendent and Leander.

    Ushers were Ashley Kruger, Kevin Beuseling, Matthew Johnson, Kevin Miller, Blaize Harris and Taylor Vincent..

    Graduating seniors include: Cody Anderson, Jenna Berg, Dana Brock, Austin Brown, Kallie Cecil, Angela Cheek, Christopher DeKezel, Caleb Dillman and Sara Eagles.

    Additional seniors are: Tayler Hein, Kalli Humphrey, Dustin Johnson, Rhiannon Kiefer, Devin Kluever, Sarah Larsen, Reva Legate, Kyle Lookingbill, Chelsea Mitro, Nathan Mortensen and Jessica Nail.

    Other seniors include: Emalie Neils, Tyler Nimrick, Andrea Palmer, Emily Peterson, Ryan Prevost, Emily Schmoll, Joseph Shreeves, Alexis Sipp, Samantha Stevenson, Alexander Thompson and Rebecca Underwood.
