Tyler English and Mary Hammer  were recognized as Students of the Quarter at the weekly Cambridge Rotary meeting Wednesday, Oct. 26.

English was nominated by the junior high teacher, Dawn Lewis, stating, “He is a student who loves to read and participate in class discussions. I nominated him also for his school spirit. Tyler helped on our junior high float and rode the float in the parade. He went above and beyond expectations with his costume and participation. Wilson would have been lonely with Tyler. He seems like a wonderful student and I can’t wait to get to know him better.”

Mary was nominated by teacher Kelly Akers, who stated, “This young lady amazes me more every time I talk to her.”

“Mary is one of the most responsible young people I have had the privilege to meet at Cambridge High School,” Akers said. “I’ve had the pleasure of directing her in several shows and she has never failed to meet the high standards I set.”

“More importantly, Mary is a caring person,” she said. “She shows patience and kindness to everyone she meets. Mary is someone other students know they can go to when they need a friend.”
