Some Cambridge students will take part in an Illinois Youth Survey, Cambridge High School principal Robert Reagan told the school board.
The statewide survey will help better understand youth risks and protective behaviors as they relate to student problems and academic success.

The Cambridge School Board voted to change the gross misconduct statute in the Cambridge Jr./Sr. High School handbook during the regular board meeting Thursday, Sept. 15, to include any “spice, K2, K3, potpourri, etc.” or synthetic cannabis or any other substance which is deemed unsafe by the administration.

School board members learned the current enrollment for the 2011-12 school year at the Cambridge Elementary School is 310, up nine students from last year, during their regular meeting Thursday, Aug. 18. The high school enrollment is 131, up from the 126 last year and the junior high enrollment is slightly down, 65, from 70 last year.
