How many years were you with the department?

39 yrs., 3 months.

What did your present job involve?

Assigning daily jobs for personnel, overseeing and supervising all operations, checking road conditions and getting snow operations in process.

What other jobs have you performed in the past?

I drove a semi for Swanson Motor Service in Cambridge in 1974.

What were your biggest challenges ? How did you handle them?

The biggest challenges were never a problem on my job because we had a good crew and I could depend on them to do their part to minimize the challenges.

What moments have been the most memorable in your career?

Helping to set up new equipment, along with purchasing new equipment. Also in meeting all the people involved over the years in the job operation.

Good things about your job? Things you won’t miss?

The people involved. Things I won’t miss - checking roads at 1 a.m. in the morning and every hour after.

What are your plans for your retirement?

Enjoying the farm, help the Ambulance Service, find some parttime work and go to Colorado a little more often.
