CAMBRIDGE—A lot of history, generosity and sentimentality rolled into Cambridge Saturday, Aug. 7, during the second annual Cambridge Tractor Show.
CAMBRIDGE—Massey-Harris was the featured tractor for the 2010 Cambridge Tractor Show held Saturday, Aug. 7 in downtown Cambridge. A total of over 254 entries were entered and displayed in the day-long event.
CAMBRIDGE—The Cambridge Youth Sports League (CYSL) will host a mush ball tournament, 3-on-3 basketball tournament and volleyball tournament during the Cambridge Main Street Family Fest and Auto Show Saturday, August 21. Registration forms are available on the CYSL website. Deadline for entry is Monday, Aug. 9.

CAMBRIDGE—A tractor show and ag day is set in Cambridge for Saturday, Aug. 7, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. according to Karen Hutchinson, one of the organizers of the event. “This year the show will be expanded and include semi tractors, farm trucks and hit-and-miss motors,” said Hutchinson. “There will be something for everyone.”
CAMBRIDGE—On Saturday, June 19, the dining room at Hillcrest Home was transformed into a wedding reception hall thanks to the help of Mary Bergren and her many dedicated staff members.
CAMBRIDGE—Last year, an antique tractor show was held in conjunction with Cambridge Main Street Fest and Car Show. This year, the show will be expanded and held separately according to Karen Hutchinson, one of the show’s organizers. The show will be held Saturday, Aug. 7, in downtown Cambridge with registration beginning at 7 a.m. and the show running from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
BISHOP HILL—Antique cars are the focus of the Sunday, July 25, Antique Car Show in Bishop Hill, which attracts more than 100 antique and classic cars and their owners plus several hundred visitors enamored of the cars of yesteryear, which will encircle the park with registration from 9 a.m. to noon followed by mid-day judging and 3 p.m. awards.
CAMBRIDGE—Clarence Drescher of Cambridge is donating a replica of an outhouse as a raffle prize for Cambridge Tractor/Ag Day on Saturday, Aug. 7, downtown. Registration is at 7 a.m. and the show from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Raffle prizes include 10 gallons of John Deere paint, a pedal tractor and gift baskets. Raffle tickets will be sold the day of the event. Half-hog and 50/50 raffle tickets are already on sale. New this year will be “hit- and-miss motors” used for washing machines, wells and pumps; a semi tractor show and a farm tractor show. CAMBRIDGE—Main Street put on a hog roast on Saturday, July 10, in College Square Park. Afterwards, the Village of Cambridge and C-SAC sponsored a movie, "Where the Wild Things Are," in the park.
CAMBRIDGE—Jaidyn Miller of Sheffield showed the grand champion barrow in the 4-H swine show on Thursday, June 24, at the Henry County Fair. The reserve champion barrow belonged to Tyler Gradert of Geneseo.
CAMBRIDGE—4-H'ers from all over Henry County bring their projects—ranging from aerospace to visual arts—to the fairgrounds and present them to judges.
CAMBRIDGE—Jackie Driscoll of Cambridge was crowned the 2010 Miss Henry County Fair on June 22 at the fairgrounds in Cambridge. Junior Miss and Little Miss winners also were selected.
CAMBRIDGE—A storm with straight line winds whipped through Cambridge Wednesday, June 23, shortly after 5 p.m. The winds damaged tents, trees and concessionaires’ facilities at the Henry County Fairgrounds in Cambridge where the county fair was underway.
CAMBRIDGE—Main Street would like to invite Cambridge residents to join in a community hog roast summer celebration in College Square Park on Saturday, July 10.
OSCO—On Sunday, July 4, Osco Community Church will dedicate a memorial to men and women who have served in the military. The dedication will be part of Praise in the Park, a worship service that begins at 10 a.m. in Hand Park, Cambridge. Besides the dedication of the veterans’ memorial, the service will include patriotic music and singing, prayer for the United States and a message from the Bible.
CAMBRIDGE—The Cambridge Park Program features a variety of activities, from croquet to dance moves to arts and crafts. An ice cream social on Friday, June 18, raised funds to continue the program next year.

CAMBRIDGE—Cambridge Main Street held its biannual garden tour and container contest on Sunday, June 13. Although the weather forecast predicted rain by late morning, Main Street committee members hoped the sun would shine long enough for people to enjoy the five gardens on the tour.
