“Caged” is a new reality series on MTV that follows three amateur cage fighters from the small town of Minden, La. Similar to the network's “Teen Mom” and “16 and Pregnant” series, it is a direct and honest look at the lives of young people whose experiences don't fit the pattern of high school, college, career, marriage. As with most of its documentary style shows, MTV uses the music in “Caged” as a cue to how you should feel when watching each scene. Despite this distraction, it is a surprisingly poignant reality show that doesn't need a soundtrack to enhance its emotional impact.
