Cà d’Zan concerts

Concerts to be held at Cà d'Zan House Concerts, Cambridge, in September include:

• 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 8 — Christopher Mark Jones with special guest Katie Belle and the Belle Rangers. “Pittsburgh resident Christopher Mark Jones speaks five languages and has been a professional basketball player and French professor at Carnegie Mellon University as well as a singer/songwriter,” his website said. Social Hour Club

Doris Friend and Mary Anderson Maggiora will host the Cambridge Social Hour Club Meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 10, at 2 p.m. at Courtyard Estates in Galva. Pam Ahring and Linda Lindburg will be the readers. To carpool, meet at the Cambridge Lutheran Church parking lot at 1:20 p.m.


Village of Cambridge-sponsored bingo will be played for the last time this year on Thursday, Oct. 12, at Cambridge Community and Youth Center. Dinner will be at 5:30 p.m. and bingo at 6 p.m. Prizes will be given away.

The Village of Cambridge is asking players to reserve their meal the Monday before bingo. Reservations may be made by calling (309) 937-2570. The cost includes a meal, drink, dessert and bingo cards.

Fall Review

Cambridge United Methodist Church will host its 28th annual Fall Review from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, in both the church building and Cambridge Community Hall.

Saturday will start with a country-style breakfast from 7 to 9 a.m. The menu includes casseroles, fruit slush cups and muffins.

Lunch featuring ham loaves will be served from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Starting at 11:30 a.m., carryout will be offered.

The second printing of the “Cambridge Celebrates Cookbook,” with additional new recipes, will be for sale.

Shopping opportunities include an indoor craft show, with only handcrafted originals from favorite crafters who are returning and other crafters who are attending for the first time.

Ready-to-bake frozen foods include ham loaves, apple dumplings, creamy cheese tortellini soup, lasagna for two, and a new item, swedish meatballs.

The Gourmet Shop will feature homemade hams and jellies, pickles, fudge, mixes, mustards and pastas, among other items.

Bakery items include homemade breads, rolls, pies and cookies.

Door prizes will be given out.
