Preparing the Thanksgiving dinner can be intimidating. Fortunately, first graders at Cambridge Elementary School are turkey experts, and they are willing to share their tips. These recipes are from the students of Lori Foley and Christi Reed. We are publishing them over four days, from Monday through Thursday. These are Thursday's recipes.

Nataleigh Rogula — I will get the turkey from the Walmart store or the Orion grocery store with mom and dad. Well, I would stuff and salt it with only one gallon of salt, a little gallon of pepper, and 10 carrots. I will cook it on the stove at 10 hot for 15 minutes. We will also eat strawberry pie with “mushed” up candy canes and “mushed” up Oreos which is my favorite, soup with carrots, green beans and noodles. We also eat sweet potatoes and regular corn. We eat this turkey food at Rhonda’s house. I am thankful for my family because they are very nice and kind.

Carly Smith — I have no idea where to get a turkey because I haven’t made one. I might get it inside of Walmart. I will probably stuff like 4 or 5 bits of pizza sauce in it. I will open up a bag of saucey cheese or cheesy sauce and put the whole thing in the turkey. I will put it in the oven with my grandma because she is a pretty good cooker. I will cook it in the oven at 10 or 5 degrees for 5 ½ minutes. I will also eat cheese rolls, like the meat that’s in a little bag, and some pizza, definitely have banana or strawberry pie. I am thankful for my mom, grandpa, and my grandma, and I am thankful for God, too. I am also thankful for teachers because they teach.

McKayleigh Vinavich — We’re going to get the turkey from the Walmart. In the turkey I will put in about a quarter flour and just a teaspoon of pepper and salt. I will cook it in the stove at the 12 hot to the 6 hot for like 9 minutes. We are going to have pumpkin pie, mashed potatoes, I think those little carrots, and some water for a drink. I am thankful for T-maw, my mom because she is a great mom, and dad because he is always looking out for me.

Sawyer Wells — I will go hunting for my turkey at my cousin’s house. I am going to stuff the turkey with 6 strawberries, 10 grapes, 5 cooked potatoes, 1 pound of flour, and 2 pounds of ketchup. I will cook it in the microwave for 1 hour at 16 hot. We will also eat salted potatoes, cranberry sauce, and strawberry syrup with ice cream. I am thankful for my mom, dad, God, and my sister.

Aiden Wexell — I’m going to hunt with my dad to find a turkey. We will go down to my friend’s, the DeDecker’s. I’m going to put seasonings inside of the turkey. Like 10 little drops of taco seasoning and 15 cups of brown sugar, 5 carrots and 11 green beans. I want to cook it on a plate in the stove for 10 minutes at 21 hot. I’m going to have mashed potatoes, green beans and my mom’s bread that she makes...and it’s good bread. We’re going to have chocolate cake for my dessert and ice cream with chocolate, vanilla and strawberry. I’m thankful for my nana, papa, mom, dad, Levi and Hunter.

Preston Wood — I get my Thanksgiving turkey from Pizza Hut. I will stuff 1 ton of gravy, 2 bananas, 1 sugar, and 2 cups of mayonnaise. I cook it at my house in my kitchen in my oven. I cook it at 6 for 22 hours. We eat with our turkey some gravy, cottage cheese, grapes, and apple pie. I am thankful for my cousins cuz they come to my house and we play.

Aiden Yenor — I’ll get my turkey from Walmart with my family. I will put 5 pieces of broccoli in the turkey and also 3 pieces of cauliflower and 10 carrots. In the turkey I will also have 3 teaspoons of garlic. I will cook it on my stove for 15 minutes at 6 or 7 temperature. We will also eat some mashed potatoes with gravy, baked bread, and pumpkin pie with whipped cream in the middle. I am thankful for my dad because he is nice and I love him.
