Lyn Dee Kemmis-Teerlinck, 67, of Geneseo, died Sunday, March 4, 2018, at UnityPoint Health - Trinity, in Rock Island. A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 8 at Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory, in Geneseo. A visitation will be prior to the memorial service from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be left to the Geneseo Humane Society. Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.

Lyn was born on March 14, 1950, in Geneseo, the daughter of Lyle and Marilyn (Combs) Kemmis. She graduated from Geneseo High School with the Class of 1968. Lyn worked as a wallpaper hanger and interior decorator, and started her own business, Wallpapering by Lyn, in 1983. She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, and a longtime member of Geneseo Junior Woman’s Club, where she was a past president. Lyn enjoyed gardening, antiquing, and, most of all, she loved to decorate her home.

Those left to cherish her memory include her companion and best friend, Brian (Nick) Nickolson; sons, Brandon (Mandy) Teerlinck, of Bettendorf, Iowa; and Brent (Jennifer Quade) Teerlinck, of Columbia, Mo.; daughter, Brittany (Pat McGrail) Teerlinck, of Geneseo; and two granddaughters, Brooklyn and Bailey. She also is survived by her brother, Sid (Carlene) Kemmis, of Prophetstown, and by her four nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lyle and Marilyn.
