US Army MAJ (Ret.) Robert Philleo "Bob" Ives, 82, of Fayetteville, NC, passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2018. Bob's funeral was Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at MacPherson Presbyterian, in Fayetteville, NC. Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery.

US Army MAJ (Ret.) Robert Philleo "Bob" Ives, 82, of Fayetteville, NC, passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2018.
He was born on June 2, 1935 in Galesburg, IL, to the late Dale G. and Anna Grace Philleo Ives. Additionally, preceding Bob in death, was his most beloved son, Rob.
Bob is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lois; daughter-in-law, Kelly Price of Melbourne, Australia; brother, William C. (Virginia) Ives of Chapel Hill; nephews and nieces, David (Jeanne) Ives of Arlington, IL, Carol Davis of Lombard, IL, Dr. Daniel (Joy) Ives of Hinsdale, IL; and brother and sister-in-laws, Joyce (Deceased) (Robert J.) Siedare of Phoenix, AZ, Evie (Al) Lau of Silverthorne, CO, Dallas (Rosalie) Laumbach of Wimberley, TX, Karen (Dr. Al)(Deceased) Kenny of Sacramento, CA, Ron (Sabra) Laumbach of Cologne, MN and Oxford, MS.; grand nieces and nephews; and his dachshund, Lumpi V.
Bob grew up in Aledo, faithfully attended Sunday School at College Ave. Presbyterian Church. After graduating from the University of Iowa and Temple University he served in the Army during the Vietnam War and he earned the Bronze Star and Vietnam Cross of Gallantry w/palm. In Des Moines, IA, he and Lois adopted their beloved son, Rob, born Nov 5, 1962, at age six weeks, from the Children's Home Society.
He volunteered at the Airborne Special Operations Museum,the Fayetteville airport USO of NC, a member of the Kiwanis Club of Fayetteville, and in the Cape Fear Chapter Military Officers Asso.
Bob's funeral was Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at MacPherson Presbyterian, in Fayetteville, NC. Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery.
