MACOMB — The Macomb/McDonough County Drug Unit discovered cannabis intended for delivery and over $35,000 in cash after serving a search warrant at a rural Macomb residence last Wednesday night.
According to McDonough County Sheriff Nick Petitgout, officers went to a residence at 9825 U.S. Highway 136, Lot 108, in rural Macomb at 10:39 p.m. Police recovered just under 51 ounces (about 3 pounds) of cannabis from inside a wall in the trailer. Detectives seized $35,280 in cash from a bedroom safe.
Resident Fabian E. Wingo, 45, of Macomb was arrested on submitted charges of manufacture/delivery of 500-2,000 grams of cannabis.
Wingo was booked into McDonough County Jail.
Bond has been set at $50,000 with bail set at 10 percent. The preliminary hearing will take place at 2:30 p.m. on June 18.
