Coni Jo (Dobbels) Pronschinske, a native of Cambridge, was recently named 2011 Director of the Year for Morrison Management Specialists.

She received the honor while attending a divisional meeting in Las Vegas. Morrison Management Specialist is the contracted food service operator at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.

Pronschinske has worked at Galesburg Cottage Hospital as the Director of Food and Nutrition Services since 2005.

In presenting the award, Morrison Management officials said in late 2010, Pronschinske was challenged with reducing client expenses by $110,000 at Cottage.

“As a P&L, this meant reducing billable revenue by 7 percent,” officials said. “She (Pronschinske) knew she needed to make significant changes to the organizational structure and production processes to be successful. She did just that shaving $117,000 off cost of goods and reducing labor costs by over $60,000. She was not only able to reduce enough costs to save the client $110,000, but improved Morrison profit by 100 percent taking Morrison from a loss of $80,000 to break even. She accomplished this while improving patient satisfaction to 93 percent, achieving a 94 percent on the client satisfaction survey, and reducing the number of injury claims by 66 percent.”

Lewis Region has approximately 46 directors. The Director of the Year must be nominated and voted on by the Regional Directors of Operations (RDO) and cannot be voted on by their account specfic RDO.  Morrison Management Specialists is a food service company providing food, nutrition and dining services to healthcare and senior living communities through its two operating divisions: Morrison Healthcare Food Services and Morrison Senior Living.

Pronschinske is the daughter of Jim and Carol Dobbels of Cambridge. She resides with her husband, Chad Pronschinske, and two children, Mallory and Daniel in Orion.
