It is a 1980 Pierce Arrow with a platform and 85’ ladder.
How much did it cost
$6,500.
Background
The truck sold new for around $225,000 and the one to replace it was just short of $1 million dollars. The truck needs some minor repairs and new tires, but is in good shape otherwise.
Number
In addition to the truck, the department received 600’ of 4” hose, dozens of ladders and a 6,000 watt generator, bigger than an generator the district currently has.
How will this help the district and the residents who live here
It will allow the district to fire two story commercial and residential fires more easily and should slightly lower insurance rates for homeowners and business owners according to Dole.
