Members of the Cambridge High School dance team will compete in the state dance competition Saturday, March 14, after taking first place with their pom dance at the North Sectional in Downers Grove Saturday, Feb. 28. “This will be Cayla and Laurel’s fourth time to state,” stated Leanne Walsh, Cambridge dance instructor. “This is the first year that I’ve had girls go to state four years in a row. The girls will compete in Assembly Hall at Champaign. No time as been announced yet.” Members of the team include Cayla Walsh, Laurel Whitford, Aly Smith, Cheyenne Grant-Witt, Sara Eagles, Jazmine Toribio, Rebecca Underwood, Bethany Nelson, Hanna Swanson, Dana Brock, Emily Peterson and Tayler Hein. Only three teams in the North sectional made it to state according to Walsh.
