Letting seniors skip taking finals for improved test performance as a group has improved student morale, student representative Jennifer Saulnier told the Cambridge School Board this week.

The seniors were allowed to skip finals if, as a class, they did better than the class before them on the Prairie State Achievement Exam given last spring. Saulnier said the challenge caused everyone to take the test seriously.

"If they didn't try, then everybody else would be mad at them," she said.
