All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license, or two other forms of identification are require at check-in.

March  is designated as  American Red Cross Month. Each year, the Red Cross collects about 6 million pints of blood, about half the blood needed in the United States.

March was initially designated as Red Cross Month in 1943, when President Franklin Roosevelt issued the first proclamation to remind the American public that the Red Cross is committed to providing blood and blood products, disaster assistance and emergency social service across the United States and worldwide.
