Cambridge Main Street board members are getting ready for their 11th annual auction Sunday, Jan. 24, at Stenzel’s Collectors Hall in downtown Cambridge.
The auction is set for noon according to Sheryl King, Cambridge Main Street director. Proceeds from the auction will help Main Street operate for another year.
“We have a lot of nice things this year,” King stated. “I want to emphasize that we will auction off the very last Cambridge Viking football this year and we will also have a volleyball featuring the new Ridgewood Spartans.”
Other items donated for the auction include a hog donated by Leonard and Brock Boelens to be sold in two-halves, with processing donated by William and Judy Schehl; four certificates for cooking class donated by Village Cabinetry, Lighting and Appliances, Geneseo; an 18” strand of nine millimeter dyed pearls donated by Diamonds on the Avenue, Moline; a new brown and white 8’x 6’4” quilt donated by Bess Anderson and Deb Yarger, both of Cambridge and three eight-week sessions to Dee Dee’s Acrosports, Cambridge.
Also donated is a basket of homemade goodies from the Cambridge United Methodist church; a gift certificate from the Cellar Restaurant, Geneseo; a four-place picnic duffel bag, umbrella, cookbook and spatula from Central Trust and Savings, Geneseo; a gift card from Dairy Queen, Geneseo; one White Strips from Dr. John Gnatovich; a large Bio-Freeze from Dr. John Guild; two stadium chairs from Edward Jones, Geneseo; Rechargeable Electric Broom, Eureka Vacuum, five-gallon water crock cooler on legs with dispenser donated by Joan Ehnle, Cambridge; a Circa’ 21 gift certificate for two donated by the Cambridge Chronicle, and four items including a rabbit, French garden basket with bunny, a party lamb, and Spring puzzle blocks donated by Bethany Lowe Designs, Osco.
Additional items include two rounds of golf at Maple Bluff, Geneseo by Farmer’s National Bank of Geneseo; two theatre packages donated by the Geneseo Park District; a gift certificate donated by GWK, Geneseo; a gift certificate from Highland Pack, Colona; a gift certificate donated by the Homestead Restaurant, Woodhull; an Isabel Bloom sculpture from Isabel Bloom, Moline; 20 Egg McMuffin sandwiches from McDonalds, Geneseo and two large pizzas from Pizza Hut, Geneseo.
Also included is a family photo package from Special Touch Photography, Cambridge; a hair and nails product basket donated by Darla Becht Hair and Nails; six pies from Bonnie Talbott; a basket of homemade goodies made by Lisa VanWatermeulen; a gift certificate from WalMart of Geneseo; cement statues from Charlie Dircks, Cambridge; two rounds of golf with cart donated by Valley View County Club, Cambridge and a bird house donated by Greg Wiles, Cambridge.
