Martha Elaine Sward, 79, of Cambridge died Friday Sept. 30, 2011, in Green Cove Springs, Fla.
A celebration of life was held at 2 p.m. Saturday Oct. 8, at the Cambridge United Methodist Church. Internment was in Rosedale Cemetery, Cambridge. Visitation was from 12:30 to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the Cambridge United Methodist Church.
Memorials may be made to the Cambridge United Methodist Church or the Cambridge Legion Auxiliary.
Martha was born on Feb. 29, 1932, in Lynn Center, the daughter of Arland and Martha (Sandstedt) Seabloom. She graduated from Orion High School in 1950. She married Stanley Sward on Nov. 27, 1954, at the Swedona Lutheran Church in Swedona.
She worked in the early 1950’s for John Deere Planter Works in Moline, Illinois and then was self employed as a reporter of debits and deeds in Henry County.
Her memberships included the Cambridge United Methodist Church, The United Methodist Women and the American Legion Auxiliary of Cambridge.
Martha enjoyed her grandchildren, working in her flower garden and collecting antiques.
She is survived by her husband Stanley; three sons, Charles and his wife Rose of Middleburg, Fla; Douglas and his wife Kathy of Midvale, Utah. and Peter Sward of Kissimmee, Fla.; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, brothers, John Seabloom of East Moline, Arland Seablom of Orion and Ted Seabloom of Lynn Center and sister, Ruth Vermost of Geneseo. Also surviving are many nephews and nieces and their families.
