On Monday, Jan, 18, the girls faced the Galva Wildcats and won 74-30.
In the first game on Saturday, Jan. 23, the Spartans faced Stark County in the semi-final game. This game was rescheduled from Thursday, Jan. 21. It was a ten point difference as the Spartans beat the Rebels 63-53. The fourth quarter saw the Spartans outscore the Rebels 23-16 to qualify to play the Princeville Princes in the championship game.
The championship game Saturday night brought together two powerful teams. This game proved to be a tight, back and forth game from beginning to end.
Princeville came alive in the third quarter, outscoring the Spartans by a margin of 18-6. Teel hit a three pointer. The rest of the third quarter offense came from the free throw line. Stephanie Williams, Peterson and English each dropped in one from the charity stripe.
Although Ridgewood scored twenty points to Princeville's sixteen points in the final quarter, it wasn't enough to avoid being edged out for only their second loss of the season. In the fourth, Peterson hit on a pair of three pointers and Kruger hit one. Stephanie Williams added four two pointers and Gelaude hit one and a free throw to round out the scoring for Ridgewood.
