Curtis Wayne "Mr. Mo" Morris of Tampa, Fla., 76, departed this life Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011, after a long illness.  

    Joan C. Girven, 83, of Port Byron, formerly of Galva and Cambridge, died at 4:56 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, at Trinity Rock Island. Visitation was held from 1 to 3 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 14, at Rux Funeral Home in Galva. Cremation was accorded following the visitation and private inurnment was held at Rock Island Arsenal National Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Joan Girven Memorial Fund.

Marvin J. Medley, 92, of Woodhull died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2011, at his daughter’s home in Cambridge. Services were 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 27, at the Peterson-Wallin-Knox Funeral Home in Woodhull.  Burial was in the Woodhull Cemetery where military rites were conducted.  Visitation was 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 26, at Peterson-Wallin-Knox. Memorials may be made to Pathway Hospice of Trinity Medical Center or United Church of Woodhull.  

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, for Kenneth L. Wongstrom, 97, of Hopewell, formerly of Geneseo, who died Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

Cremation has been accorded. The memorial service will be held at the Cambridge Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services. Inurnment will be at Rosedale Cemetery, Cambridge. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.

Victor Edward “Cody” Meyer Jr., 76, of Somonauk passed away Friday, Dec. 16, 2011, at his home surrounded by his loving family. 

    A funeral mass was held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 21, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Somonauk with Fr. Thomas Brantman officiating.  Burial was at St. John Catholic Cemetery in Somonauk.  Visitation was from 3 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec 20, at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk with a Rosary service held at 7:30 p.m.

Cristine M. Munson, 58, of Moline, died Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2011, at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis. Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 3, at Calvary Church of the Quad Cities, Moline. Memorials may be made to Calvary Church of the Quad Cities.

Stephanie M. Ruszczak, 87, of Geneseo died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011, at the Hammond-Henry Hospital Long Term Care Unit, Geneseo. A funeral Mass celebrating her life was held Thursday, Nov. 10, at St. Malachy’s Catholic Church, Geneseo. The Rev. Michael Pakula officiated. Burial was in North Cemetery, Geneseo. A visitation was held Wednesday, Nov. 9, at Vandemore Funeral Home Ltd., Geneseo, where a Rosary was recited. Memorials may be made to the Stephanie Ruszczak Memorial Fund.

Jayden Lynne Williams, 7-day-old daughter of Jesica Vincent and Corderro Williams of Moline, died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011, in the Neonatal ICU at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.  Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 5th, at the Cambridge Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services.  Burial was at Pleasant View Cemetery, Kewanee.  Visitation was from 9 to 10:30 a.m.  prior to the service at the funeral home. Virginia J. Hancock, 88, of Cambridge died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011, at Rosewood Care Center of Moline. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at the Cambridge Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services with Pastor David Joyce officiating.  Burial was at Andover Township Cemetery.  Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Cambridge United Methodist Church.

Hazel L. Barker, age 89, of Cambridge, formerly of Bushnell, passed away at 5:15 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011, at the Hammond Henry Hospital Long Term Care Unit in Geneseo. Hazel chose to donate her temporal bones to help others learn more about hearing loss.  Per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and private burial of ashes will be at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice. Martin-Hollis Funeral Home in Bushnell is in charge of local arrangements. 

Stephen J. Holden, 68, of Bishop Hill passed away Friday, Oct. 7, 2011, at his home. A memorial service was held on Friday, Oct. 21, at 7 p.m. in the Bishop Hill Colony Church. Memorial donations can be made to the Bishop Hill Heritage Association to be applied towards restoration of the 1854 Steeple Building.

    Dr. J. Wayne Rehn, 74, of Alpha died Sunday Oct. 9, 2011, at Cottage Hospital in Galesburg. Cremation has been accorded and a celebration of life service was at 11 a.m. Tuesday Oct. 11, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Woodhull.  Burial was in the Andover Cemetery where military services will be conducted.  Visitation was Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Peterson Wallin Knox Funeral Home in Alpha, where memorials may be left to Bethany Lutheran Church, University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine Scholarship fund, Families of Spinal Muscular Atrophy or to a favorite charity. 

Martha Elaine Sward, 79, of Cambridge died Friday Sept. 30, 2011, in Green Cove Springs, Fla.  

    A celebration of life was held at 2 p.m. Saturday Oct. 8, at the Cambridge United Methodist Church. Internment was in Rosedale Cemetery, Cambridge.  Visitation was from 12:30 to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the Cambridge United Methodist Church.

    Memorials may be made to the Cambridge United Methodist Church or the Cambridge Legion Auxiliary.

Dorothy A. Murphy, 90, of Bettendorf, Iowa, died Sunday, Sept, 25, 2011, at the Bettendorf Health Care Center. Per her request, cremation rites were accorded. A memorial service was held Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011, at 11:30 a.m. at The Runge Mortuary.  Visitation was Saturday morning at the mortuary, from 9:30 until the start of the service. Memorials may be made to March of Dimes or Hospice Compassus.

    Mildred C. Moore, 91, of Galesburg, formerly of Cambridge, died Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, at Rosewood Care Center, Galesburg.     
 
   Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service was held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 3, at the Cambridge United Methodist Church with the Rev. Cheyanna Losey officiating.  Inurnment was at the National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal.  Visitation was from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Cambridge Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services.

Betty A. Dahlstedt, 89, a resident of Good Samaritan Center in Davenport, Iowa, formerly of Bishop Hill, died Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011, at the center.

    Funeral services were held Sunday, Oct. 2, at Rux Funeral Home in Galva with the Rev. David Pyell officiating. Visitation was one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial was in Oneida Cemetery.

Memorial services for George “Roger” Johnson,  77, and Mary Catherine Broshar Johnson, 76, both of Manchester, Tenn., will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 8, 2011, at the Cambridge Lutheran Church.

    Bertha E. Freet, 93, of Andover died Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011, at Hillcrest Home, rural Geneseo.
    Funeral services were held at 2p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10th, at the Cambridge Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services with the Rev. Todd Smith officiating.  Burial was at Bishop Hill Cemetery.  Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

A funeral Mass celebrating her life will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 9, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Cambridge. The Rev. John Burns will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo. Visitation was held Thursday, Sept. 8, at Vandemore Funeral Home Ltd., Geneseo, where a Rosary was recited.

Connie S. Blank, 62, of Cambridge, died Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011, at her mother’s home in Cambridge. Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service was held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, at the Augustana Lutheran Church, Andover with the  Rev. Jan Veseth officiating.  Visitation was from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday at the church. Memorials may be made to the Connie Blank Memorial Fund for the education of her grandchildren.
