Dorothy F. Gustafson, 88, of Cambridge died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017, at Good Samaritan Society — Geneseo Village.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 1, at Cambridge Lutheran Church. The Rev. Randall Swanson will officiate. Burial will be in Andover Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Cambridge Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services.

Dorothy Frances Cantwell was born Jan. 14, 1929 in Beloit, Wis., the daughter of Alva F. and Dorothy V. (Kassebaum) Cantwell. She graduated from Davenport Central High School.
She worked as a bookkeeper at the Davenport Bank and Trust Co. prior to marrying Robert W. Gustafson on Sept. 6, 1952, in Davenport. The couple celebrated their 60th anniversary shortly before he passed away Sept. 15, 2012. They had lived in Andover Township on the family farm, which has been in the Gustafson family since 1875.
She was a member of the Henry County Farm Bureau, a charter member of Valley View Club, Cambridge, and a member of Cambridge Lutheran Church, where she served in many ways. Dorothy was a leader of the Country Belles 4-H Club for 10 years.
She enjoyed golf, reading, and sewing. Bob and Dorothy wintered in Mesa, Ariz., for 17 years.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn and Bill Frank of Grimes, Iowa, and Julie and Craig VanVooren of Moline; a son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Madeline Gustafson of rural Cambridge; grandchildren, Nicole (Tyler) Furek, Devin Frank, Kirsten (Frank) Nelson, Dane VanVooren, Christy (Corey) Foltz and Laura (Paul) Erlewine; nine great-grandchildren; and a nephew, Rick Gustafson.
Her parents, her husband, and a brother-in-law and his wife, Don and Virginia Gustafson, preceded her in death.
