Walter Daniel Franke, 89, of Macomb, passed from this life into the glory of Heaven to be with his Father God and Jesus his Savior on Nov. 6, 2017, in Macomb. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Norma Shirley (Ratliff) Franke, and his children: Michael Lowell Franke and wife, Karol, of Avon, Ill.; Ann Franke Menschel and husband, Larry, of Ursa, Ill.; Lyn Franke Feldmann and husband, Rick, of Windsor, Wis.; and Charles Mark Franke, Sr. of Cleveland, Ohio. His family also included 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Walter was a World War II Veteran. He retired from Midwestern Gas Transmission Company in 1988 after 37 years of service. He and Norma moved to Little Swan Lake near Avon in 1991, where he served on the Lake Board for a number of years. He was a member and active in many ministries at Checkrow Community Church. Visitation and services will be held at Checkrow Community Church, 3587 E. Checkrow Road in rural Avon, with visitation from 2 until 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 10, 2017, and funeral services at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017, followed by burial at the Avon Cemetery in Avon.
