Zerretta Chell Swanson 83, of Estero, Fla. died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017, at Joanne's House at Hope Hospice in Bonita Springs, Fla. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 11, at the Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, Fla. She will be laid to rest beside her loving husband, Marvin. Additional services are being scheduled for Sunny Grove Park, 3610 Lychee Lane, Estero, Fla. Once scheduled, the services will be announced.

Zerretta Chell Swanson 83, of Estero, Fla. died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017, at Joanne’s House at Hope Hospice in Bonita Springs, Fla.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to Joanne’s House at Hope Hospice 27200 Imperial Parkway, Bonita Springs FL 34135.

Zerretta was born April 18, 1934, in Cambridge, a daughter of the late Clifford and Rachel (Wildermuth) Grant.

She was a former member of Augustana Lutheran Church, Andover, and a member of the church’s Bible study group. She gave a lot back to her church by baking and serving at various events at the church.

Zerretta also belonged to a neighborhood card club.

Her hobbies included crafts and ceramics, and she enjoyed gardening, especially growing vegetables and flowers. She also enjoyed sewing and baking.

She had been a winter resident of Estero since 1997 and became a permanent resident upon moving from Cambridge in 2010.

Zerretta is survived by her two daughters, Lynnette Funnell and her husband, William “Bill,” of Sun City Center, Fla., and Brenda Blank of Estero; her sisters, Noreen (Donald) Hashbrook of Marshville, Wis., Joyce (Jan) Gibson of Calhoun, Ga., Veronica (Paul) Moon of Wyanet, Patricia Wyland of Andover and Linda (Jim) Justice of Milan; one brother, Cary (Tani) Grant of Cambridge; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marvin R. Swanson, who died just last year; three brothers, Orville Grant, DeWayne Grant and Philip Grant; one sister, Carole Lundgren; and one grandchild.
