Funeral services for Carla K. Highland, 46, of Pontiac, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the First Lutheran Church, Pontiac, with Rev. Tim Hubert officiating. Burial will be in Rowe Cemetery, rural Pontiac.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the First Lutheran Church, Pontiac.
Calvert & Martin Funeral Home, Pontiac, has charge of arrangements.
Carla passed away at 5:40 a.m. Sunday, March 11, 2018, at her residence.
Born Nov. 19, 1971, in Pontiac, Carla was a daughter of Perry and Sherrill (Beecher) Wilson. She married Scott Highland on March 18, 1995. He survives in Pontiac.
Also surviving are her parents; Perry and Sherrill Wilson of Pontiac; one sister, Trina (Ted) Whittle of Pontiac; her father-in-law, Doug Highland of Cornell; one sister-in-law, Amanda (Jim) Walsberg of Cornell; nieces and nephews, Blake Whittle, Brooke Whittle, Hayden Walsberg, Emma Walsberg and Mason Walsberg; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Nancy Highland and her paternal and maternal grandparents.
Carla was a 1990 graduate of Pontiac Township High School and a 1992 graduate of Joliet Junior College. She was an administrative assistant at State Farm for 25 years. She was a member of First Lutheran Church, Pontiac.
Enthusiastic about life, Carla was a kind and loving person. She lived her life rich with family and friends. She embraced each moment of her life with her warm heart and gentle spirit. Carla will long be remembered in the hearts and lives of those she loved. She left us too soon and leaves a void that cannot be filled.
Memorials in Carla’s name may be made to Children’s Hospital of Illinois in Peoria.
