Marilyn J. Stach, 79, of Cambridge died Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, at the Cambridge Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dawn Keenan officiating. Burial was in Rosedale Cemetery, Cambridge. Visitation was from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Cambridge Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services. Memorials may be made to the Cambridge Ambulance Service.
The former Marilyn Jean Vincent was born August 4, 1930, in Andover, the daughter of Orlo E. and Myrtle H. (Robinson) Vincent. Her father died when she was very young, and Marilyn was raised by her mother and step father, Martin P. Johnson. She was educated in the Andover area schools and graduated from Orion High School in 1948. Her marriage to Stanley Stach took place on Oct. 14, 1949 in Geneseo. He died Dec. 18, 2004. The couple moved to their farm in Cambridge Township it 1961.
Marilyn worked in the Chip Shop in Cambridge for Novak Cleaners. She also did cleaning services for area doctor’s offices and the funeral home. Her memberships include the Cambridge Lutheran Church, and she was a former member of the Geneseo Moose Lodge No. 990. Her hobbies were sewing, crafts, cooking, and going to yard sales and auctions. She especially enjoyed making Christmas ornaments for each family member every year.
Marilyn also enjoyed eating out with family and friends.
Survivors include three daughters and a son-in-law, Roselyn and Dan Maeltzer of Osco and Michelle Stach and Paula Stach, both of Cambridge; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Julie Stach of Cambridge; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Her parents, her husband, a son, Gary, two sisters, and two brothers preceded her in death.
