Lucille S. Anderson, 98, of Clearwater, Fla., died October 10, 2008, near her daughter in Denver, Colo. She was cremated according to her wishes and a celebration of her life was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 28, at the Cambridge Lutheran Church. The Rev. Dawn Keenan will officiate.
Private burial was held Monday, March 30, at the Oneida Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Cambridge Lutheran Church where she was a member.
She was born March 30, 1910, in North Henderson, the daughter of Charles and Rella (Humes) Peterson. She graduated from Oneida High School in 1928 and married Emery H. Anderson March 19, 1930.
They lived on and farmed the family farm for 20 years after which they moved to Cambridge and started an electrical business.
Lucille was president of the Women’s Club and a member of Rebeccas being Noble Grand. She volunteered at Hillcrest Nursing Home for 20 years and at the East Moline Nursing Home for several years.
In the 1960s she and her husband started spending their winters in Florida. Shortly after the loss of her husband, she made Florida her permanent home.
She enjoyed sports, cards, bingo, and traveling with her husband and later her daughter, Sandra.
Survivors include her daughter, Sandra Behr of Colorado; two grandsons, Carter Behr of of Colorado and Colin Behr of Florida; a sister-in-law, Margaret Ann Peterson of New Windsor; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Emery, in May 1988; her parents; a sister, Evelyn Thayer and two brothers, Wallace and Charles Peterson.
