 Elvira N. Hulin, 98, of Cambridge died Sunday, May 24, 2009, at Hillcrest Home, rural Geneseo.  

 Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, at the Cambridge Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dawn Keenan officiating. Burial was in Oneida Cemetery, Oneida. Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Cambridge Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services.

 Memorials may be made to the Cambridge Lutheran Church or Hillcrest Home.

 The former Elvira Nelson was born Oct. 17, 1910, near Oneida, the daughter of Gilbert and Signe (Franceen) Nelson. She was educated in the Oneida area and graduated from Oneida High School in 1927. Her marriage to Raymond Hagg took place on Dec. 8, 1931, in Altona. He died on Sept. 30, 1944. She married Julius Hulin on Aug. 26, 1946, in Altona. He died on Aug. 27, 1994.  

 Elvira attended Western Illinois University in Macomb and took various correspondence courses. She taught three years in rural schools in Knox and Henry Counties. After moving to Cambridge in 1948, Elvira taught kindergarten and did substitute teaching.  

 Her memberships included the Cambridge Lutheran Church, the WELCA group of the church, and the Cambridge Social Club. She was also a librarian and served on the Cambridge Township Library Board and the Western Illinois Library Board. 

 Elvira enjoyed books, crossword puzzles, fishing with Julius, and attending grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s school events. 

 Those surviving are sons and daughters–in-law, Donald G. and Sharon Hulin of Cambridge, Claire and Patty Hagg of Richland Center, Wis. and Wayne Hagg of Kewanee; grandchildren and (spouses) Katy (Tom) Hasson, Karl (fiancée Nancy Walter) Hulin, Polly Hagg, Abby (Alex) Tejeda and Robert (Christie) Hagg and six great grandchildren.  
 
Her parents, her husbands, an infant son, two brothers, and two sisters preceded her in death.
