    Warren Taylor Page, 91, of Springfield died Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009, at Regency Nursing Care in Springfield.
    Services were under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 E. Allen, Springfield, where memorial services were held Wednesday, Nov. 11, at 5 p.m.  Memorial visitation was from 4:00 until time of the memorial service at 5 p.m.  Inurnment in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Springfield.
    Memorials are suggested to the Parkinson’s Foundation Midwest Office, 833 W. Washington Blvd., Chicago, IL  60607.
    He was born in Berlin, Ill. on Feb. 13, 1918, the son of Warren Patrick Page and Pearl (Taylor) Page. He married Georgia Lee Stambaugh in 1941 in Fulton County.
    Mr. Page was a veteran of WWII having served in the United States Coast Guard from 1942 until 1945 and was a member of the American Legion Post #32, Springfield.  He was a member of the First Christian Church, Springfield, as well as a member of various Masonic Orders and a past member of numerous professional educational organizations.
    He was a graduate of the New Berlin High School, New Berlin, class of 1934.  He graduated from the Western Illinois University in 1941 with a Bachelor of Education degree and a Masters degree and Advanced Certificate in Education degree from the University of Illinois after WWII. 
    Mr. Page was a recipient of the Phi Delta Kappa Award for academic achievement from the University of Illinois.  In 1970, he was honored by the University of Illinois College of Education Alumni Association with the "Outstanding Loyalty Award" for his contribution to leadership.
    He served as an educator in Illinois for 36 years having retired in 1977 as the regional superintendent of schools for Ford County.  During his tenure as an educator, he served as a coach, teacher, and later superintendent of schools at Cambridge from 1945 until 1956.  He then continued his career as superintendent of schools in Gibson City, Illinois from 1956 until 1975.  In 1973, he received the "Presidential Citation" from the Illinois Association of School Administrators for "Conspicuous Service to Public Education and the Profession of School Administration."
    After retiring from his career in public education, Mr. Page was a field representative for the Everett I. Brown Architectural Engineers of Indianapolis, Ind., a company designing school buildings.  In 1980 until 1983, he served as the Educational Consultant with the House Republican Staff, a branch of the Illinois State Legislature.
    He was very active, before his retirement, in community affairs having served on numerous boards, commissions, and church organizations.
    Survivors include his wife, Georgia Page of Springfield; two sons, Warren Lee (wife Janet) Page and Jay Patrick (wife Jill) Page and their families; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
