Great news! Most exciting goings-on at the final board meeting before the fair. Harness racing will be held as planned on Thursday afternoon, June 24. Last-minute developments have made it possible to continue as usual. A big thanks to Rick for all his extra negotiations with the state, and to the Northern Colt Association for their tireless efforts to make this happen. Hooray!

Anyone who is a “corporate sponsor” this year may pick up their passes at the fair office either before or during the fair. If you pick them up during fair week, your gate fee will be refunded in the office. Thanks for your help. The fair could not have been successful without all of you.

Signs for sponsorships and advertising will be on the front fence before fair. If we missed you somehow, please call the secretary’s office, 937-3391, and we will take care of it.

The art hall ladies are so excited. They have twice the number of entries as last year. Almost 900 entries in the art hall. WOW! Lots of quilts and more.

Decorations for the barn dance and bingo are almost up. Motorcycles are revving up and the show livestock are getting fat. Cakes are being made for the cake walks.

Kids, I can’t wait to see the rides, magician, balloon man, juggling clown on stilts, the petting farm animals and their babies, and all the fun stuff that  will be going on in the MEC tent on the Midway. Moms and dads, bring cameras for these great picture opportunities.

The midway is full this year with our old favorites as well as new faces, new foods and fun. Come try all the good food at the fair. Don’t forget the 4-H stand and Pork Producers too.

There are still a few spots in the Merchants building, and it’s not too late to get a booth. Great advertising and you get to meet so many nice people. Call the office if you are still interested at 937-3391. They will take real good care of you.

I just know I have forgotten something. Oh, well, just come to the fair this year and see how many new activities you and your kids can find. Bring the schedule that was in the Henry County Advertizer-Shopper last week, or the front page of this week’s Advertizer-Shopper so you won’t miss anything!

Remember, we have a full day planned for Sunday this year.

See ya’ll at the fair from Tuesday, June 22, through Sunday, June 27.
