QUAD CITIES—Did you know, according to the Alzheimer’s Association, if you add up the number of unpaid hours of care per year provided by a friend or family member to a senior loved one in the state of Illinois the cost equals $5,057,840,312 per year?
CAMBRIDGE—Although nearly 2,900 letter carriers were attacked by dogs last year, pales in comparison to the 4.5 million Americans who were needlessly victimized by dog attacks—the majority of which were children. Please consider the following tips and share them with your family.
CAMBRIDGE—In the Henry County primary election, three candidates ran to be the Republican party candidate for sheriff. It was a very hotly contested race with all candidates campaigning hard to win the election.
CAMBRIDGE— To whomever keeps putting the ad in the paper about the Cambridge Viking signs . . . what’s the big deal?
ANDOVER—A big congrats to the many people who brought to fruition the wonderful 175th Andover celebration. The mayor, the village board members, the Tourism Committee and the many, many invested citizens did a wonderful job of planning and then working to make the weekend the great event it was in our small village.

CAMBRIDGE—We often recite the pledge to the flag and acknowledge that we are one nation under God, with liberty and justice for all, without thinking. We take our blessings for granted, our education, our freedom to worship, our choice of career, and the opportunity to live in a two- parent home.
CAMBRIDGE—On Friday, May 28 and Saturday, May 29, a number of American Legion Auxiliary ladies will be seen about town with red poppies in hand. For a donation, you can proudly wear a poppy and show your support for disabled American servicemen and women.
CAMBRIDGE—Again, the flower pots have been planted along Prospect and East streets to add curb appeal to our downtown business district. And again, the flowers for those planters were purchased out of town instead of supporting our local businesses, (Flower Basket and Jack & Jill) our tax dollars were spent in other towns.
CAMBRIDGE—This year’s election for sheriff is one of the most important races on the ballot. We the voters have the opportunity to vote and change the failed policies and management within the Sheriff’s Office. Three months have passed since the primary election, narrowing our choices for Henry County Sheriff.
