Yah! Cambridge Dance Team! I cannot say enough about all the girls I have met over the past four years through the Cambridge Dance Team.
I have been lucky enough to work with them up close and personally.
They are a dedicated, caring and hard working group of girls. Dancing many times through injury, sadness and sometimes panic! There are very few sports that practice as many hours as these girls do. They start in August and go through to March.
They care a great deal about what the crowd thinks of their performances. They want to WOW the hometown fans—everytime.
Dance has taught them commitment, teamwork and friendship. They aren’t recognized as athletes because they are not IHSA members and seldom do they get the recognition for their tough physical and mental preparation.
I will miss these girls terribly and hope they know how much they have taught me. It’s hard work, it’s constantly second guessing choreography, it’s late night practices, sometimes early morning practices and it’s been the best four years!!!
