We often recite the pledge to the flag and acknowledge that we are one nation under God, with liberty and justice for all, without thinking. We take our blessings for granted, our education, our freedom to worship, our choice of career, and the opportunity to live in a two- parent home.
You must realize that this is possible only because of the men and women who were willing to sacrifice to defend our country without much compensation.
In World War II, noncomissioned soldiers were to receive $24 a month but the government kept $7 for insurance leaving them only $17. Thousands of men and women are buried in far away lands or went down in ships. Many children grew up without knowing their Father. Men and women have and are still making the supreme sacrifice to defend the U.S.A.
Pray for peace. Never forget that freedom isn’t free. God bless the U.S.A.
