Pack the shuttle and space suits, Cambridge Elementary School is launching a mission to the moon!
Our shuttle will be powered by our two feet and the healthy foods we will eat. It is our goal for students to walk the 238,700 mile trip to the moon.
The community is also invited to log their "flight time" and help us reach our goal. Mile by mile, bite by bite, students learn the importance of being physically active and making healthy food choices.
The program will conclude with a shuttle landing to be held on Saturday, May 9. Our mission to the moon is possible because we received a $5000 grant from the American Heart Association.
How you can help reach our goal is simple. Write down your daily steps (if you already have a step counter) or keep track of the minutes of physical activity and the intensity level: light, moderate, or vigorous.
Log sheets are available at Cambridge Elementary School or visit http://cambridge.il.schoolwebpages. com. Select the Elementary school and click on "3..2..1..To The Moon!" Log sheets can be returned to the Elementary School office.
