CAMBRIDGE—State-ranked Ridgewood upped their season record to 16-1 after defeating ROWVA 77-39 during a conference basketball game in the Cambridge High School gym Monday, Jan. 4.
   

CAMBRIDGE—The Ridgewood Spartans boys played two games last week, on Tuesday, Jan. 5, at Monmouth-Roseville and Saturday, Jan. 9, at Cambridge when they hosted Knoxville. The Friday, Jan. 8, game with Mercer County was cancelled because of inclement weather and has been rescheduled for Saturday, Jan. 23.

PROPHETSTOWN—By the end of the Prophetstown Tournament played over the holiday break, the Ridgewood Spartans varsity girls basketball team had improved its overall season record to 15-1. 

PROPHETSTOWN—Ridgewood defeated Lena-Winslow 50-42 for fifth place in the Lady Prophets invitational on Wednesday, Dec. 30, in Prophetstown.

PROPHETSTOWN—The Ridgewood girls boosted their record to 12-0 with a 48-33 win over the Prophetstown JV at the Lady Prophet Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 26, in Prophetstown.

CAMBRIDGE—Ridgewood placed second in the first-ever Ridgewood-ROWVA tournament for boys basketball teams last month.
Tuesday night, Dec. 15, was the opening round in the eight-team tournament, co-hosted by the Ridgewood Spartans and the ROWVA Tigers.

RIVERDALE—Those fans who made the trip to Riverdale High School in Port Byron Friday, Dec. 18, were treated to a fantastic basketball game.

CAMBRIDGE—On Saturday, Dec. 12, the Ridgewood Spartans hosted a team from Peru-St. Bede at Cambridge High School.  Despite a 12 point performance by Brian Norberg, the Spartans were outscored 82-44.

CAMBRIDGE—Ridgewood Spartans continue to keep their winning streak alive as they played three games last week. On Monday, Dec. 7, they hosted West Central at AlWood High School and won 42-17. On Friday, Dec. 11, Ridgewood hosted Galva in non-conference action at Cambridge High School. On Saturday, Dec. 12, the Spartans boarded a bus and took a road trip to near Springfield were they participated in the Riverton Shootout.

CAMBRIDGE—From the opening tip, it seemed that the Spartans were in control.  Taking possession of the tip, the Spartans moved the ball down the court Thursday, Dec. 3. The first points of the game came on a three-point shot from the corner. Abingdon responded with a three of their own, but then Ridgewood took over. 

CAMBRIDGE—Two Ridgewood players, Brian Norberg and Tyler Nimrick, came out strong in the opening quarter and scored six points each and then continued to score to lead the Spartans over Fulton Unity Christian 52-40 Friday, Dec. 4.

CAMBRIDGE—he Ridgewood girls basketball teams hosted Rockridge Monday night, Nov. 30, at Cambridge High School. In the opening junior varsity game, Ridgewood was defeated 57-14, but in varsity action Ridgewood was victorious 56-41.

WOODHULL—Brimfield won the Ridgewood Boys Thanksgiving Tournament Saturday, Nov. 28, with a 5-0 record in Woodhull, while Riverdale came in second with a 4-1 record. East Dubuque placed third with a 3-2 record and Prophetstown finished fourth with a 2-3 record. Abingdon finished fifth with a 1-4 record and Ridgewood came in sixth with an 0-5 record.

WOODHULL—AlWood High School was the site for the Ridgewood Girls Basketball Thanksgiving Tournament last week. The tournament began Wednesday, Nov. 18, and concluded Saturday, Nov. 21.  Ridgewood won the four-day tournament, being the only team who remained undefeated at the end. Amanda Kruger and Annie Gelaude were named to the Ridgewood Girls Basketball All-Tournament Team.
 

CAMBRIDGE—Claire Smith gave the blessing to start the Ridgewood Spartans volleyball banquet Monday, Nov. 9, at Cambridge High School. After a potluck supper, varsity coach Lisa Miller began the evening with thank yous from all three volleyball coaches.
