Woodland-Flanagan-Cornell erupted for 12 runs in the first inning and did not look back in routing Henry-Senachwine 13-0 in a five-inning Tri-County Conference softball game.
Elise Kane sent a message with a triple to lead off the game. A single, a double and two more singles followed as the Warriors built a 4-0 lead. Back-to-back two-baggers from Kaitlyn Walter and Kane pushed the lead to 8-0.
The Mallards didn’t help themselves with four errors in the inning.
WFC got another run in the fourth inning and cruised as Emily Friese and Morgan Schwahn kept the Mallards in check. Friese gave up three hits and fanned four in four innings. Schwahn tossed a scoreless fifth inning.
Kane had four hits with two singles added to the triple and double. She drove in two runs and scored three times. Kylie Kindermann had two hits and two RBIs and Friese helped herself with a double, single and RBI. Shea Moritz also had a pair of safeties and a run batted in. Walter doubled while Audrey jenkins, Syndee Plesko and August Gillman each had a hit and RBI.
