Hillebrenner, Dodge key for WFC
Chandler Hillebrenner scattered six hits in going the distance to pitch Woodland-Flanagan-Cornell to a 6-1 Tri-County Conference win over Henry-Senachwine.
Hillebrenner struck out seven, walked two gave up just the one run.
Cody Dodge doubled to get things going for the Warriors in the second inning. He scored on a double play. Hillebrenner singled in the third inning and scored on another Dodge base hit.
Henry scored in the top of the fifth but WFC responded with four runs to put the game away.
Kyle Voytko led off with a double and Hillebrenner singled before Clayton Sibert walked to load the bases. Dodge also walked to force in Voytko. Hillebrenner scored on a fielder’s choice and Mason Ewing doubled in Dodge for a 6-1 lead.
Dodge collected a double, single and two runs batted in to lead the WFC attack. Voytko had a double and single and Hillebrenner, Jake Albertson and Tyler Jenkins each checked in with two safeties. Ewing had a double and drove in three runs.
