Pontiac secured a team victory before doubles play began by winning five singles matches in a 7-2 win over host Pekin in boys’ tennis Wednesday.
Griffin Brunner, Rocco Sartoris and Clay Miller were each winners in singles and doubles play for the Indians (6-4). Brunner went three sets to prevail 6-0, 3-6, 10-6 at No. 1 singles. Sartoris was a 6-1, 6-4 winner at No. 2 and Miller cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 3.
Brunner and Sartoris teamed to take their No. 1 doubles match 6-1, 6-4. Miller and Garrett Brunner won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2 singles.
Ethan Finnegan was a 6-4, 3-6, 10-6 winner at No. 5 singles and Kyle Kuerth took the No. 6 singles match 6-4, 7-5.
