Area softball with EPG and Dwight

Cheyenne Carr went yard and El Paso-Gridley had a lead for a moment. But St. Bede answered with a big inning and went on to post a 7-3 nonconference softball victory over the Titans at South Pointe Park Monday.
The Bruins scored in the first inning and added one in the fourth for a 2-0 lead.
EPG responded with a three-run fourth. Kayla Rote led off with a single, Ashlyn Stone followed with a base hit and Carr drove one over the fence for a three-run homer. The Titans left the bases loaded without scoring another run.
That hurt because St. Bede scored four runs in the fifth inning to regain the advantage.
Carr had a homer and double for the Titans. Stone also had two hits and Rote, Gabbie Guthrie and Landrus had one hit apiece.
Carr took the loss in the circle. She fanned five and allowed 10 hits.

Rodosky collected a double, single and three runs batted in to lead the DTHS offense. Abby Edwards had a two-run homer, Katy Edwards had a two-run double and Kaitlyn Masching provided a hit and RBI. Lynn Dee Hale also had a hit.

The Dwight run in the fifth inning was scored without benefit of a base hit. Abby Edwards reached on a dropped third strike, made her way to third on a hit by pitch and a groundout. She scored on a passed ball.
Katy Edwards had her homer, Hale had a run-scoring double while Abby Edwards and Rodosky each singled. Morgan Zabel and Kat Harms also drove in runs.
