Class 1A girls' track sectional

    Ridgeview garnered a team championship and will be well-represented at the Class 1A girls’ state track meet next week after winning the Paxton-Buckley-Loda Sectional on Thursday.
    The Mustangs won four events and will be competing in seven events at the state meet in scoring 72 points to win at PBL. Dwight scored 28 points and Tri-Point had 10.
    Mya Tinsley and Jules Grunloh will be a busy young ladies as each will compete in four events. Tinsley won two sprints and was part of a winning relay and a relay that took second. Tinsley took the 100-meter dash in 12.94 seconds and the 200 in 26.69 seconds.
    Tinsley teamed with Stacia Landry, Tia Hardt and Grunloh in winning the 4x100 relay in 50.96 seconds. The same quartet came in second in the 4x200 relay in 1:49.05.
    Grunloh helped the Mustangs qualified with second-place finishes on the track in the 4x400 relay and the 400 dash. Grunloh was second in the 400 with a time of 1:02.1. She was teamed with Landry, Hardt and Layken McGuire in a runnerup effort in the 4x400 with a time of 4:16.23.
    Jayden Standish won the discus with a toss of 116 feet, 5 inches to advance.
    Dwight will be represented at state as Julie Ramsey took second in the 100-meter hurdles in 16.48 seconds.
