Youth baseball from Friday

    Route 66 Nutrition rallied to beat Illinois American Water Company 6-4 and the rain Friday in Little League play at the Rec-Plex.
    IAWC scored the game’s first two runs with its tallies in the bottom of the first inning. Four walks and a hit batsman broke the ice.
    Route 66 scored four times in the third inning to take the lead. The rally started with a one-out single from Carlito Lattin. Tommy Oestmann singled to drive in the tying runs and Justin Tovrea stole home with Zechariah Landstrom at the plate to give Route 66 the lead.
    Camden Gillette singled to drive in a run and make it 4-2.
    The two biggest runs for Route 66 Nutrition came in the fourth inning, when two runs were tallied for a 6-2 lead. Oestmann had another two-run single for the insurance markers.
    IAWC rallied in the bottom of the fourth with two runs to close the gap before the game ended.
    Anderson Horning double in one run and a bases-loaded walk to Alex McMeen forced home another run.
    Oestmann had two hits and four runs batted in to lead Route 66 Nutrition. Tovrea also had two hits while Landstrom and Gillette each had a hit and RBI and Lattin had a base hit.
    Tovrea got the win with six strikeouts in three innings. Cayden Masching fanned two in one inning of relief.
    Horning had a double while Hayden DuVall and Parker Gray each singled for IAWC.
    Duvall struck out five and Mason Schlosser fanned one on the bump.
Peanut League
    Logan Henry and Ben Melchers each had home runs in leading Selig Group to a 6-0 win over Wright’s Furniture in Peanut League play Friday.
    Melchers had a homer and double and scored twice for Selig. Henry had a homer and single while scoring twice. Noah Davis also collected two hits. Joshua Hartke tripled and Hudson Simmons doubled. Avry Gray and Carson Howard each singled.
    Logan Mackinson doubled for Wright’s Furniture. Sebastian Vega and Aiden Prendergast each singled.
