Annawan did its damage in the first and third quarters, outscoring the Spartans 18-9 in the opening frame and 21-6 in the third frame to extend its lead to 44-20 before topping Ridgewood 59-35 Tuesday, Jan. 17.
Ridgewood’s girls had a good night when they hosted the United Red Storm Monday, Jan. 9, and won a 66-63 nailbitter. The Red Storm came out strong and outscored the Spartans, 16-9. Scoring five for Ridgewood was Annie Gelaude. Jasmine Jefko and Ashley Kruger added two points each.
Ridgewood’s varsity boys basketball team took on ROWVA Friday, Jan. 13, at Oneida. The Spartans faced a 32-16 deficit after the first half, leading to the Tigers widening the gap just before the fourth period (54-28) and ultimately Ridgewood’s 68-44 demise.
