Ridgewood boys placed third at the Spartan Invitational at Bushnell-Prairie City Monday, May 17.
Bushnell won the meet with 101 points. Macomb was second with 89; Ridgewood, third with 68.75; Illini Bluffs, fourth with 67; Camp Point Central, fifth with 66.75; ROWVA, sixth with 66; Galva, seventh with 49; West Central, eighth with 48; United, ninth with 44; Liberty, 10th with 29; Astoria, 11th with 23; Warsaw, 12th with 22; Orion, 13th with 11.75 and Cuba, 14th with 6.75.
In the 3200-meter run, Owen Thompson placed eighth with a time of 12 minutes and 44.88 seconds and Joseph Shreeves finished 14th with 15:16.99.
Julian Trotman placed fourth in the 800m run with a time of 2:11.82. Brandon Nelson placed 19th with 2:47.41.
Kyle Lookingbill came in sixth out of 19 in the 400m dash with a time of 56:13.
Jared Swanson finished 14th in the 300m hurdles with a time of 50.25.
In the 400m relay event, the Ridgewood team came in 11th overall with a time of 49.64.
Cody Lanning placed second overall in the triple jump with a hop, skip and jump of 39-2. Matt Welch placed 13th with 35-6.
During the 110m hurdles, Swanson placed 11th with a time of 18.97 and Jeff Stump, 13th with 20.00.
Brandon Wilkinson placed second in the 100m dash with a time of 11.50 and fifth in the 200m dash with 23.60.
Ridgewood’s 3200m relay team finished 10th with a time of 10:38.73.
Mikel Miller won the 200m dash with a time of 22.54.
In high jump, Ridgewood took sixth and seventh, with Kevin Miller clearing 5-8 and Swanson clearing 5-6.
Ridgewood’s 1600m relay team came in fourth with a time of 3:41.56.
Trotman placed 13th out of 25 individuals in the 1600m run with a time of 5:24.73. Jonathan Timberlake was 24th with 6:32.38.
Ben Smith finished third in the shot put with a throw of 47-10. Eric Gates came in eighth with 37-0.
Ridgewood’s 800m relay team placed eighth with a time of 1:42.96.
In long jump, Kevin Miller came in first with a leap of 18-6 1/2. Anthony Luciani tied for 15th with 15-11.
Smith placed sixth out of 25 in the discus competition. He had a toss of 122-4. Trevor Kappelman came in 19th with 82-5.
