No one, we repeat, no one messes with Huck.
Olivia Pope's go-to former CIA agent-turned-techie has certainly been through enough this season on Scandal (See: Being framed for the assassination attempt on the President). But following the incident at the storage warehouse - in which Charlie (George Newbern) knocked him out and locked him in a crate - we'll see a more vulnerable side to Huck (Guillermo Diaz) that we only got a glimpse of after the government tortured him.
Torchwood's John Barrowman to guest-star on Scandal
"Seven Fifty-Two," the mysterious name of Thursday's episode (10/9c on ABC), will take a trip into Huck's past before his life with Pope and Associates. But what does 752 actually mean? And how does Fringe's Jasika Nicole, who booked a top secret guest-starring role in the episode, factor into it? TVGuide.com caught up with Diaz to get the scoop on the emotional hour:
What can you tell us about Huck's state of mind after being locked up in that crate? Guillermo Diaz: Something about him locked in that crate triggered something in his memory about his past, something that happened to him. When the episode starts, we're going to see he's just sitting in a corner of the office, rocking back and forth, and he's continually saying this number 752. We don't know what's going on with him. The team is trying to snap him out of this pretty emotional state that he's in. One by one, they sit with him and talk to him and try to figure out what's going on. It's really interesting because you see the relationship each of the Gladiators has with Huck, how much they care and how they feel about him.
What surprised you the most about this trip into Huck's past? Diaz: What surprised me the most was how many questions are going to be answered and how much information we actually get in this episode. Sometimes, when you're watching TV shows that you love, you just have to keep waiting, "Maybe next week they'll answer this!" This "752" episode, so many questions are answered. It's a really satisfying piece of television. I was shocked by how much they crammed into it and how many things I got to play. It was an amazing episode to work on.
We've seen bits of Huck's past before, but we're going to see even before he was a trained killer. What kind of person was Huck back then? Diaz: He was very, very different than the Huck we know now. People are going to see Huck in a way that they're not used to seeing him. That's going to be really interesting for the audience to see.
Scandal's Darby Stanchfield: OPA will be in a state of emergency!
Is there anything you can say about Jasika Nicole's character? Diaz: When we had our table read for this episode, I saw she was there and I was just like, "Oh my God, I'm a huge fan of Fringe." I was just so excited she was joining the cast for this episode. At the table read, the whole cast and Jasika connected. She fit right into the mold of Scandal. I think people are going to get a real kick out of who she plays and we're going to see her acting chops at a level that we haven't seen before. She's a really great actor.
What was your reaction to finding out who she was playing? Diaz: I just remember thinking [executive producer Shonda Rhimes] is a genius. When I saw who Jasika plays, I was just extremely happy. I was also mostly happy for the audience because they're going to love this episode and love this story line. Was that vague enough? [Laughs]
Charlie was behind putting Huck in that box. Huck wasn't ready to kill him before, but could he change his mind now? Diaz: Absolutely! I think Huck is getting to a boiling point, where he's just like, "Listen, mother f---er, you come into my life one more time, I'm going to kill you." I don't know what's going to happen, but that's the way I feel. Charlie keeps popping up, and now that we found out Charlie is the one who hit Huck over the head and put him in the crate, I think Huck is just over it. One more strike and Charlie's out.
Will we see Charlie and Huck come face to face again? Diaz: I can say that Charlie is definitely in a few more episodes.
If Charlie is working for Cyrus (Jeff Perry), could that mean that Cyrus is the mole? Diaz: Hmm. That's a good theory, for sure. Absolutely. We've seen that Cyrus is capable of anything really. He's the one that ordered Charlie to kill Amanda Tanner (Liza Weil). It's certainly a possibility. I wouldn't put anything past Cyrus.
Will those in OPA continue to be in danger as they get closer to revealing the mole's identity? Diaz: Absolutely. The whole team is in danger right now. That's what makes this show even more exciting because honestly anybody could be taken down at any point. And all the characters are feeling that, that they're all targets and they're all vulnerable right now. Anything can happen.

While Huck is dealing with this possible break in his sanity, his normally fearless leader has discovered who Jake Ballard (Scott Foley) is. How will they be there to support Olivia (Kerry Washington) through this? Diaz: Huck has her back no matter what. They're going to offer advice on what they think on what she shouldn't be doing. But they all have her back, especially Huck. He's not going anywhere. He's going to protect her and do whatever she asks of him. They're all a little bit skeptical about Jake, but they trust Olivia. Over a cliff, right?
Do you think Olivia should trust Jake? And who do you think Nicole is playing? Hit the comments!
