MACOMB — The city council is expected Monday to authorize solicitation of street improvement bids. The city would like to resurface portions of North Randolph Street.
Aldermen will also be asked to take care of paperwork related to state and federal mass transit grants. This includes a special warranty as part of state financial assistance, Federal Transit Assistance certifications, and acceptance of a state grant agreement.
The council will be asked to approve transfer of $30,000 from federal community development funds to the local community improvement .fund to help cover costs of demolition of substandard homes. Macomb will later receive reimbursement from the Illinois Housing Development Authority for all costs related to the project.
Aldermen plan to vote on renaming the downtown façade improvement program to reflect its larger reach. It would be renamed the Downtown Renovation Grant Program and money could be used to cover costs of electrical and other improvements to downtown upstairs apartments as well as to business exteriors.
The council may also vote to approve updated zoning maps. Monday's meeting is scheduled to begin at 5:15 p.m. on the second floor of Macomb City Hall.
