Bishop Hill Heritage Association kicks off tourist season with events April 7 and 8

Two events will be rolled into one April 7 and 8 in Bishop Hill.

The Bishop Hill Heritage Association is bringing two weekends together — Toy Tractor and Collectors — into a two-day event at the Steeple Building Museum.

The Toy Tractor Weekend is traditionally a spring event, and the Collectors Weekend moves from its usual fall date to team with the Toy Tractor event.

Toy tractors and farm implements of all shapes, sizes and brands will be exhibited on the first floor of the Steeple Building Museum — along with other collections such as patent medicine and circus memorabilia.

Local toy tractor collectors Richard Carlson and Lloyd Anderson will be returning this year. All these treasures from individuals’ private collections will be on display both days.

The artifacts will be available for viewing from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on April 7 and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on April 8. These displayed items are not for sale.

The Steeple Building Museum is located at 103 North Bishop Hill Street.
