Lady Knights set to open
Region XXIV Tournament
with home three game series

 The Olney Central College

Lady Knights are set

to open up Region XXIV

Tournament play at the

friendly confines.

The Lady Knights ended

the year as the number

four seed in the region,

finishing 28-23 overall

and placing in fourth

place in the Great Rivers

Athletic Conference with a

19-15 record.

The Lady Knights will

take on Rend Lake in a

best of three series.

The Lady Warriors of

Rend Lake finished fifth

in the Great Rivers Athletic

Conference with a 16-14

record in the league and

placed 27-17 overall on the


The two teams split

their four game season series.

Olney Central won the

two games held on the Olney

Central College campus

with wins of 15-10 and

17-11. The Lady Knights

double header sweep was

on April 12th.

Jami Davis earned her

then ninth win of the season

in the 15-10 win while

Larissa Michels earned

her first save of the year.

Allyson O’Dell and

Amanda Bonesteel powered

a pair of home runs

with O’Dell also chipping

in with a double.

Summer Roberts and

Alyssa Hornaday also had

extra base hits.

O’Dell (5), Katie

Kuester (3), Bonesteel (2),

Ashleigh Schable (2),

Roberts, Brooke Miles,

and Kiara Carson all had

RBI in the 15-10 win.

Nicole Johnson and

Olivia Loudermilk had

home runs for the Lady

Warriors with six players

chipping in runs.

In the second matchup

of the season, Olney’s

Amanda Bonesteel picked

up her third win in a relief


O’Dell had another

home run while Bonesteel

had a pair of doubles.

Brooke Miles and Alyx

Abbott also had a doubles

on the day for the Lady


O’Dell (7), Miles (3),

Bonesteel (2), Hornaday

(2), and Abbott all had

runs batted in for OCC in

the second game.

Four Lady Warriors had

runs batted in despite only

having on extra base hit, a

double from Nicole Johnson.

Just two days ago, April

25th, the Lady Warriors

swept a pair of home

games from the Lady

Knights, 9-3 and 11-10.

Olivia Loudermilk

claimed her 14th win of

the year in the first game,

outdueling Jami Davis.

Katie Kuester luanched

a home run and knocked

in a pair of runs for the

Lady Knights.

Allyson O’Dell had an

rbi and double as well.

Loudermilk helped he

own cause with a home

run and a team leading

three runs batted in.

Mackenzie Campbell

(2), Keely Barnes, Nicole

Johnson, and Chelsea Hill

all had RBI for the Lady

Warriors in the win.

Rend Lake walked off

against the Lady Knights

in the final meeting between

the teams on


Loudermilk earned her

team leading 15th win in

relief during the game.

Loudermilk hit a home

run as well as Mackenzie

Campbell and Chelsea

Hill for the Lady Warriors.

Campbell and Hill each

had three runs batted in

while Loudermilk and

Taylor Hazel each had


Brooke Miles had the

only extra base hit for the

Lady Knights with a double.

O’Dell had four runs

batted in with Summer

Roberts, Miles, Bonesteel,

Hornaday, and Kiara Carson

all chipping one RBI

for OCC.

The Lady Knights and

Lady Warriors will meet

for a pair of games today,

set for 2:00 pm and 4:00

pm start times in the first

two of the three game series.

The Lady Knights are
