Joan was born Feb. 4, 1929, in Kewanee, the daughter of Edith and Sam Clouston. She graduated from Kewanee High School in 1946. Joan married Harold Weeks on May 13, 1950 and he preceded her in death on Nov. 14, 1990.
Joan loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, bowling, sewing, gardening, and going to weekly dinners at Mary’s with her best friends Jim and Janice Anderson.
Joan’s wit and humor will be dearly missed, especially her famous response when asked how she was doing, “fat, sassy and nasty.”
Surviving are one daughter, Marchele (Michael) Mahnesmith; one son, David Weeks (fiancée Suzanne Willis); four grandchildren, Becca and Morgan Mahnesmith, Paul (Holly) Weeks and Jesse Weeks-Goodin; and one great-grandchild, Bradley Weeks. She also was preceded in death by her sister, Clarice Johnson; niece, Lois Armstrong; and grandson, John Weeks-Goodin.
The family would like to thank all of her special care givers. We sincerely appreciated all the care and love she received during her illness.
