Ivan E. Wildemuth, 90, of Geneseo, died Saturday, April 27, 2019, at his residence. A funeral service was at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 2 at Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory, in Geneseo. Deacon Harley Chaffee officiated. Burial followed at North Cemetery. A visitation was from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 1 at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Ivan Wildemuth Memorial Fund.
Ivan was born July 3, 1928, in Loraine Township, Henry County. He was the son of Glenn and Grace (Egert) Wildemuth. He married Louise Paulsen on Feb. 19, 1949, at St. Malachy Catholic Church, in Geneseo. Ivan and Louise celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in 2019. He farmed his entire life - first with mules and later with tractors - in Geneseo. He was a lifelong member of the Antique Tractor and Engine Show in Atkinson. He enjoyed farming, working outdoors, antique tractors, reading the newspaper, and watching westerns during the winter months. Ivan could fix anything.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Louise; daughter, Ninette (Keith) Carton, of Atkinson; and son, Keith (Susan) Wildemuth, of Atkinson; grandchildren, Sara Carton, Jason (Amy) Carton and Brian (Nicole) Wildemuth; great-grandchildren, Audrina, Aria and Madison; sister, Grace Loftus, of Geneseo; brothers, Dale Wildemuth, of Prophetstown; and Chet (Bonnie) Wildemuth, of Blue Grass; and brother-in-law, Albert (Anne) Paulsen, Conn. He was preceded in death by his parents.
