Robert N. Beyerlein, 72, of Geneseo, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 6, 2019, at Hammond-Henry Hospital Emergency Room, in Geneseo. Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life and gathering of family and friends will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 18 at the First Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall. Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church, in Geneseo, or the Henry County Humane Society - Geneseo.
Robert was born on Aug. 19, 1946, in Santa Monica, Calif, the son of Jack and Ruth (Nielsen) Beyerlein. He married Debra L. Grudzinski on Dec. 21, 1974, in Rock Island.
Robert graduated from Rock Island High School and earned an associate degree in computer technology from Eastern Iowa Community College. He worked at John Deere & Company for more than 30 years as a computer programmer and systems auditor. He was a 32nd-degree Mason and member of the Clement Masonic Lodge #0680, Colona. He was an avid Corvette enthusiast and collector. He was a founding and lifetime member of the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Ky.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Debra; his daughter, Jennifer (Colton Moore) Beyerlein, of Clarence, Iowa; mother-in-law, Bernice Grudzinski, of Geneseo; brother-in-law, Gregory Grudzinski, of Apple Valley, Minn.; and several nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
