Michael F. Werner, 67, of Geneseo, died Sunday, June 2, 2019, at his residence. A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 6 at Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory, in Geneseo. Cremation rites have been accorded an inurnment will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 6 at Roselawn Memory Garden, in Moline. Military honors will be provided by the Moline American Legion. A memorial visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 5 at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Michael F. Werner Memorial Fund.
Michael was born on Aug. 29, 1951, in Moline, the son of Jerome and Mardell (Hodgins) Werner. He married Vicki Enyeart in 1971, then later married Susan Miller on Sept. 28, 1995. He was employed as a mechanic at Auto Acres and 2 & 92. Michael served his country proudly in the United States Army. He enjoyed fishing and cars, especially Volkswagens.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Susan; sons, Michael (Sharon) Werner Jr., of Campton Hills; and Scott Werner, of Hamburg, Germany; grandchildren, Sarah and Ashley Werner and Henricke Werner; brothers, James (Cherie) Werner, of East Moline; Robert (Rose) Werner, of East Moline; Daniel (Carolyn) Werner, of Geneseo; Paul Werner, of Geneseo; and Kenneth (Teresa) Werner, of Geneseo; sisters Mary Ann (James) Clifton, of Geneseo; Sandra (Johnny) Dell, of Sacramento, Calif.; Janet (Paul) Vanderschaaf, of Geneseo; Ellen (Kenny) Drehman, of Geneseo; and Margaret (Mike) Godsil, of Papillion, Neb. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerome and Mardell.
